For all of you people with kidlets, please take a tour of this site. Maybe your school might be interested!
My 13 year old has it at his school and everyday I get an email that updates his grades, homework, etc. Tells me if there are missing assignments, etc....and you can email the teachers with any questions as well!
I love it!
A little off beat from the normal post I do, but here goes:
There is a movie called Idiocracy. It was a movie about what our world is going to be like 500 years from now. Well, according to the movie, 500 years from now the world will be full of idiots that all speak with a redneck/valley girl type vocabulary and think that beer & sex is the meaning of life.
HMMMMMMMM.....I don't know about you, but I think it sounds a lot like the world today. Anyone?? At least the good ole' US of A? Anyone?
I really do think that this is where our world is headed. I really do, and every since I saw this movie I see more idiots more often than I wish to. Nobody thinks anymore. At least not for themselves. Our elderly are probably the most intelligent in the world right now and they are dying in rapid #'s...yes, they are living longer than before, but they are old, and they don't have much longer to go before they die.
So what to do?
Our younger generation is our future. Now that's scary, and some of our so called teachers who are more interested in their retirement and how many days they can get off with pay this year, don't don't give a crap about our kids. OK, maybe there are a few out there that do, but they are either old or retired....see the point? Our children are being prepared for the next state test. They are not being taught to succeed anymore like back in the day. It reminds me of that Pink Floyd video, "We Don't Need No Education".."Anther Brick in The Wall"..yes, you know the one. The one where all of the little school children, who have no faces, are being led like cattle into a big meat grinder...Horrible.
What happened to Mr. Giese, and Mr. Wilson? Sound like characters? Well, no, they were not characters, they were some of the best teachers that I ever had. They listened, they asked us questions and were actually interested in what we had to say...
So what's the problem with the world and teacher's today?
